Macro Photography How to photograph using Close Up Tubes

Watch this photography tutorial video to learn how to use close up extension tubes. My first assisting job was with a prominent New York City advertising photographer. He got this assignment to photograph some very tiny highly sophisticated aircraft components. I thought it was impossible. I set up the camera with a 50mm lens and tried to get in close, but there was no way. The object was still tiny in the viewfinder. The photographer came over to the set and said, "put a 150mm lens on that camera and get out the extension tubes". As I hesitated not knowing what an extension tube was he reached past me and got them out of the camera case. He mounted one between the body and the lens and the magic was done. The object filled the entire viewfinder of the camera. In this tutorial we show how extension tubes work and how making combination with different sizes affects the image.
